On the surface, I’m generally a happy person—bright, colorful, chatty, always seeking beauty. But my health is often humming (sometimes screaming) in the background. It lives in my head and my body, shaping things I don’t always talk about, shaping what I can and can’t do.

Painting has become both my refuge and my reckoning. An escape and a confrontation. A place where I remind myself to meet myself exactly where I am—to show up halfway, to get out of my own way. Layer by layer, I tried to paint the truth: the joy and the ache, the sparkle and the shadow.

This portrait feels like me.

Happy on the surface, carrying a quiet undercurrent, finding grounding in the things I love most—my family, my studio, laughing with friends, a whiskey, camping, and, if you want peak joy, traveling the world with my family.
