About
I spent a few days hiding under the covers. My body sick—soaking in the dis-ease of this country. I tried to wash off my grief. It didn't budge. So I dragged myself to the studio and did the only thing I know how to do: I tried to find the light.
This painting carries the names we know—and the many we don't. People killed during immigration enforcement across this country. Some shot. Some lost in custody. Some erased by paperwork and silence. They were parents. Lovers. Friends. Neighbors. Some were citizens. Some weren't. None of that should matter—and yet it did.
This work is not about politics. It's about bodies. It's about grief. It's about refusing to look away. This is me trying to find the light without pretending darkness isn't real.
