Untie Me

This painting danced to the soundtrack of Graceland. The rhythms carried me somewhere warm and wild. I kept thinking of peacocks—those flashes of bold, electric beauty—and tall yellow flowers standing proud on their slender stems. As I painted, I imagined lying on my back in a field, staring up at the stars, everything wide open and full of possibility. There was a looseness in the air, a lightness. I felt untethered, like I could drift upward and disappear into the night sky. This piece holds that freedom—joyful, grounded, and just a little wild around the edges.
