Zen

One of my favorite 18x24 pieces—simple, but it pulls me in every time. I imagine myself lying in that open farm field, a tree stretching its branches over me like shade from a long day’s work. There’s dirt under my nails, sweat on my skin, and an ice-cold glass of water in my hand. It cools me from the inside out. The air is thick with the smell of rain drifting in from the distance. Everything feels earned. Still. Peaceful. This painting is a little exhale—a moment of rest in a world that rarely pauses.
