Where Our Souls Wander

Where Our Souls Wander is a series of original acrylic paintings by Bianca Youngers, created in 2026. The work began with a question about how much exists around us beyond what our bodies can perceive. Youngers let physical instinct lead the painting process, allowing images to emerge before she could explain what she was making.

Plants, unfamiliar organisms, and forms resembling organs appear beneath veils that suggest a spiritual presence. Some paintings evoke a sternum opening; others feel like glimpses of an out-of-body experience. Through repeated layers of covering and uncovering, Youngers followed these strange forms without resolving exactly what they were.

The series holds beauty, peace, darkness, and emotional intensity. Some paintings emerged with ease, while others took days of struggle and revision. Together, they invite viewers to stay with the unknown, noticing what an image can stir before its meaning becomes clear.
