How to Commission a Custom Abstract Painting for Your Home

A custom painting begins with a feeling.
Maybe it is a color you keep coming back to. Maybe it is a room that needs something alive. Maybe it is a memory, a season, or a feeling you want to hold onto in a new way.
Commissioning an original painting is an opportunity to create something that feels personal to your home and your life. Rather than choosing a piece after it is finished, you become part of the beginning. Together, we’ll talk about what you are drawn to and what you hope the painting brings into your space.
Start with What Calls to You
You do not need to arrive with a fully formed vision. In fact, the best place to begin is often with what you already know: a painting of mine that you love, colors that make you feel at home, or simply the feeling you want to live with every day.
You are welcome to share photos of the space, the dimensions of the wall, inspiration images, or anything else that helps tell the story. A room can ask for softness, energy, depth, calm, playfulness, or a little bit of all of it.
Finding the Right Scale
Scale makes a big difference. A painting can become the center of a room or feel like a smaller, meaningful moment within it.
During the commission process, we’ll consider the size of your space and how you want the painting to sit within it. Whether you are looking for a large custom abstract painting above a sofa or bed, a statement piece for an entryway, or a smaller original acrylic painting for a quiet corner, we’ll find a scale that feels right.
A Painting That Unfolds Naturally
My paintings are made intuitively, layer by layer. I begin with the inspiration we’ve discussed, but I leave room for the work to become what it needs to become in the studio.
Because of that, a commission will not be an exact recreation of an existing painting. It will carry the spirit of the work you are drawn to while becoming a one-of-a-kind piece of its own. Color, movement, shapes, and unexpected moments find their way in as the painting develops.
That is where the magic is for me. The work begins with a shared idea, then grows into something neither of us could have planned exactly.
Made for Your Space, Made to Last
Each commissioned artwork is an original acrylic painting on canvas. It is made with care and intended to bring color, movement, and connection into the place where you live.
Custom artwork can become part of the rhythm of a home. It can change with the light, offer something new each time you look at it, and holds the memories of the life happening around it.
Ready to Begin?
If you have a space in mind, a favorite painting, or even just a feeling you would like to bring home, I would love to hear what you’re imagining.
