Oregon Voyager Interview!

I’m honored to be featured in Conversations with Bianca Youngers by Oregon Voyager!

The interview shares more about the path behind my studio practice: growing up in Bend, helping run Binks on Alberta Street with my husband for more than two decades, and building a full-time painting practice here in Portland.

We also talked about the work itself. My paintings are built slowly through layers of acrylic, mark-making, organic forms, and little pieces of text that sometimes get hidden beneath the surface. I am interested in creating places to enter, not just paintings to look at. Botanical spaces, underwater worlds, saturated color, and all the unexpected things that appear when I keep following the work.

There is a lot in the conversation about curiosity, nature, recovery, and learning to trust an intuitive process. It was really meaningful to share some of the story behind the paintings and the life that brought me here.
